Dog-Friendly Hotels

Always book with the hotel directly, especially booking a dog-friendly room. If you get a quote from a travel site the hotel will usually honor that rate themselves.

Once I booked a top-floor room in Anaheim with a view of Disneyland through a travel booking site. But when we arrived and the hotel saw with had a dog we were restricted to a bottom floor pet-friendly room. Aside from being a little disappointed, the room we got would have cost much less than the room I had already paid for -and the hotel could not issue a refund because the reservations were made with the travel site.

So in general I think you always have more flexibility dealing with hotel and not a third party, and most of the time it is going to be the same “discounted” rate.
